Routines is a native Mac app that turns what you already do into a second brain you own.
It records your meetings and writes the notes as markdown files in a folder you pick, which can be your existing Obsidian vault. Action items become tasks in the app.
The folder is indexed on your disk, so it can be accessed faster and smarter next time. You can brainstorm with your knowledge base anytime. Connect any MCP server to pull in data and automate with your local context and external resources.
Connect your email, calendar and Slack so you have everything in one place. The AI assistant talks to them and runs automations with them.
Not to be confused with Alexa Routines, Google Home Routines or the Shortcuts automations on iPhone. This Routines is the Mac app at getroutines.ai.

Record a meeting and Routines writes the note into your markdown folder automatically, and its action items become tasks in the app. The transcript is kept in a local database next to it.

The folder is indexed on your disk, so chat and scheduled AI routines read it back. Describe a routine in plain English, give it a time, and it reads your notes alongside your email, calendar, Slack or any MCP server. Think of it as a harness around everything the folder knows.

The popover opens from the menu bar or a keyboard shortcut. Its chat reaches everything in your second brain: your notes, meetings, tasks and connected tools.
Paste a screenshot of a WhatsApp chat and ask for the meeting. It reads the date, time and place, asks you first, then adds the event to your Google Calendar.
It searches your notes and meetings before it answers, and points to where the answer came from.

Routines AI included
Every new account starts with €5 of Routines AI credit, granted once, so there is no key to paste and nothing to set up. Those requests pass through our servers on the way to the AI provider, and we keep the token count, never the text. Top up with a one-time pack when you need more, or switch to the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already pay for, or a key of your own, and the requests go straight from your Mac.

Privacy proof
Meeting audio goes to Deepgram to be transcribed. Prompts, including note text used as context by chat, go to an AI provider to be answered.
On Routines AI, prompts pass through our servers to Anthropic and we keep the token count, never the text. On your own key, they go straight from your Mac to your provider and we bill nothing.
Notes and memory stay readable markdown files, with or without a connection.
